First « FUP » edition

While Paris still remains the city of love, it becomes from October 23rd to November 3rd the city of laugh.

The FUP, Festival d’hUmour de Paris (FHP would be difficult to pronounce right?), just started this Friday and will gather one hundred humorists for ten evenings in three Parisians venues: Point Virgule, Bobino and le Grand Rex.

The first night started with a big marathon: forty artistes every forty minutes for forty hours nonstop in order to celebrate the forty years of the emblematic Point Virgule scene. Every night are conceived around a theme such as girly night, geek night, stand-up night, musical night, even a mute night!

During those nights headline act will rub shoulders with young talents, a good way to discover new talents and rediscover renowned humorists. Among them Eric Antoine, Anne Roumanoff, Arnaud Tsamere, Verino, Bérengère Krief , Guillaume Bats , Olivier De Benoist , François-Xavier Demaison, Arnaud Ducret, Garnier Et Sentou, Baptiste Lecaplain, Pascal Legitimus, and many more.

With this first FUP edition Jean-Marc Dumontet, producer of the festival, will try to compete with international famous shows such as Just for Laugh in Montréal or Montreux Comedy Festival in Switzerland. The aim of this festival is to become a real appointment for the years to come not like “L’humour en capitale” who lasted for seven years but never really found his audience. The question is to know if this festival will impose its name to the others, already settled, and the audience.
